The Non-Verbal Situational Awareness Training (N-VSAT) Programme, developed by Special Projects Group Ltd consists of three courses. The first being this Foundation-level Course. There are two more courses to this Programme. The second, which is a mandatory follow-on course, is Advanced Body Language & NVC Training for Frontline Personnel. The third course Body Language & NVC Training for Maritime & Port Security Operations is designed for Security operations within marine port areas, this is an optional course and not a mandatory attend requirement.

The Course comprises of the following Learning Outcomes:

• To instruct in the Scientific Theory Behind NVC: Understand the fundamental science behind our ability to detect threats through NVC and Body Language Analysis
• To provide the learner with relevant terminology: Explore the different areas of NVC and learn how to apply it to your role as a protector
• To instruct in the various Emotions and expressions: Learn how our emotions are formed and how they govern our actions.
• To cover the various Micro and Macro Expressions: Gain actionable insights into a persons psyche through the analysis of Micro and Macro expressions.
• To demonstrate to the learner the various Emblems, Manipulators, and Illustrators: Learn how to identify key gestures to improve our communication and situational awareness.
• To cover the various Proxemics: Learn how we use and interpret the space around us.  
• To cover the various Sights and Smells: Learn how people hijack our senses and influence our decisions.
• To explain Adornment: Learn about the ways we use clothing and jewellery to influence those around us.
• To explain Priming and Anchoring: Using our environment to influence decisions and Thought process.
• To cover Spotting Confidence and Discomfort: Improve your communication skills and increase your ability to spot when people are displaying high confidence and low confidence

To attend the Foundation Body Language & NVC Training for Security Personnel, participants should ideally possess a foundational knowledge of security principles and practices, ideally with some experience in the field. While not mandatory, prior work in Law Enforcement, the Private Security Sector, Close Protection Operations, or related fields is highly recommended to maximise the benefits of the module. Since the course materials and instruction are provided in English, participants should have a good understanding of the language to engage fully with the content.

The N-VSAT Programme Module 1: Foundation Body Language & NVC Training for Security Personnel consists of the following subjects:

• Gestures – Emblems, Manipulators, and Illustrators

• Priming and Anchoring in Behavioural Influence
• Spotting Confidence and Discomfort
