About the HERT Team Member Course
Aimed at providing attendees with a structured, progressive training programme, Special Projects Group have developed their Hostile Environment Readiness Training (HERT) Programme to cover both a foundation-level, 3-Day Team Member and a 1-Day, Advanced Team Leader Course. Designed and written by former Elite Military Unit Operators (Royal Marines Commandos / SFSG) and HECPO Team Leaders and Security Project Managers, the HERT Programme prepares the delegates to effectively live and work in medium, to high-threat, or austere environments.
Performing your daily tasks under often arduous and potentially life-threatening conditions can take its toll on both your mental, and physical wellbeing. Hostile Environment Readiness Training is designed to instil in the course delegate vital and potentially life-saving security protocols, tactics and operational procedures. Teaching delegates how to perform due diligence, conduct threat assessments, practice security protocols, and function at a heightened level of mental awareness is paramount to assisting them in mitigating the risk of a security-related incident.

Special Projects Group have developed their HERT Programme to cover both a foundation-level, 3-Day Team Member and an Advanced, 2-Day Team Leader course. Designed and written by former Elite Military Unit Operators (Royal Marines Commandos / SFSG), HECPO Team Leaders, and Security Project Managers, the HERT Programme prepares the delegates to effectively live and work in medium, to high-threat, or austere environments. There is also an optional 1-Day Anti-Kidnap & Targeting Indication Course designed to assist you in mitigating the risks associated with acts of kidnap.

Practical Exercise
Course delegates will also be required to take part in an overnight exercise utilising skills instructed for:
- Securing an Emergency Site
- Establishing Shelter & Preparing Emergency Food
- Managing & Resolving Stress-Induced Situations
- Provision of Emergency First Aid
- Navigating to a Safe Extraction Point
Successful candidates will receive a Special Projects Group Hostile Environment Readiness Training for Team Members (HERT-TM) Certificate of Attendance
The course is aimed at personnel acting as individuals, or part of a team who may find themselves living and working in hostile, or high-threat environments anywhere in the world.
There are no pre-requisites for attending this course.
A Course Information Pack will be sent to course delegates once they have been booked onto a course and payment made in full. This will detail instructions for joining the course, expectations of behaviour during your time with us, kit list, ’72-Hour Bag’ details, and a course timetable.
