Our 3-day Hostile Environment Readiness Training for Team Members (HERT-TM) has been written and designed for personnel from all sectors, including, but not limited to the following: Members of the Military, Law Enforcement, Private Security, International Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), Media Professionals, Relief and Charity Organisations Personnel, Corporate Company Staff and Management, and Oil & Gas Workers who fall under a ‘duty of care’ by their employers.

    The most advanced and comprehensive Hostile Environment Readiness Training (HERT) Package of its type. Aimed at providing clients with a structured, progressive training programme, Special Projects Group have developed their HERT Programme to cover both a foundation-level, 3-Day Team Member and an Advanced, 2-Day Team Leader course. Designed and written by former Elite Military Unit Operators (Royal Marines Commandos / SFSG), HECPO Team Leaders, and Security Project Managers, the HERT Programme prepares the delegates to effectively live and work in medium, to high-threat, or austere environments.

    About The HERT for Team Members Course

    Performing your daily tasks under often arduous and potentially life-threatening conditions can take its toll on both your mental, and physical wellbeing. Hostile Environment Readiness Training is designed to instil in the course delegate vital and potentially life-saving security protocols, tactics and operational procedures. Teaching delegates how to perform due diligence, practice security protocols, and function at a heightened level of mental awareness is paramount to assisting them in mitigating the risk of a security-related incident.

    Course Information Pack

    A Course Information Pack will be sent to course delegates once they have been booked onto a course and payment made in full. This will detail instructions for joining the course, expectations of behaviour during your time with us at Altcar Training Camp, kit list, ’72-Hour Bag’ details, and a course timetable.

    HERT for Team Members Course Training Environment

    The HERT-TM Course is instructed on-site at Altcar Training Camp, near Merseyside, UK. This is an active UK Military Training Camp, with hundreds of acres of training areas including live-fire ranges, classrooms, accommodation and offices. Course Delegates will be exposed to both a classroom-instructed and outdoor (activities) managed course, with accommodation and meals provided.

    HERT for Team Members Course Learning Outcomes

    The following are the Learning Outcomes associated with the HERT-TM Course.

    • To provide course delegates with the necessary skills to assist in their risk mitigation of a security-related incident.
    • To instruct the course delegates on how to plan, execute and debrief from daily taskings expected of them in potential high-risk environments.
    • To develop the course delegate’s confidence in facing, managing and resolving stressful situations.
    • To improve teamwork and the course delegates capacity in analysing threats, managing conflict, and conflict resolution.
    • To instruct the course delegates on fundamental subject matter vital to the success and safe-keeping under a duty of care to their fellow team members.

    The course is aimed at personnel acting as individuals, or part of a team who may find themselves living and working in hostile, or high-threat environments anywhere in the world.
